Greetings again, fellow Alphonsians. The Fun Walk Awards committee had its final meeting last night. For this year, the following specific rules apply: - For the Biggest Delegation award: Members of the committee will distribute an attendance sheet to all the participating batches before the walk starts. Each participant must write his/her own name. Proxy sign ins are not allowed. The committee will collect the sheet as the batch moves out of the SACS gate. The data will be the final count. No add ons are allowed. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
- For the Biggest Contribution Award: Members of the committee will collect the data from the separate committee to which you hand in your Fun Walk contribution. THE FUN WALK CONTRIBUTION MUST BE IN AN ENVELOPE SEPARATE FROM THE REGISTRATION AND RAFFLES MONEY. Collection will be after the Hataw and once submitted, the amount will be final. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
- For the Best in Cheering: Each batch will have up to a 1-minute cheering routine. One of the biggest criteria for judging is the speed of forward motion of the batch. The judging area will be the Radaza ancestral home area. Watch for a sign upstairs that say “Cheer!” There will be awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
- For the Best in Uniform: The judging will be done at the community stage in front of the Puericulture Center. There will only be 1 award.
- For the Most Colorful award: The judging will be done at the community stage as well. There will only be 1 award.
Ang hukom sa cueme dili ma lalis! Have fun, everyone. And, don’t forget, bunga sa Biggest Contribution Award! |

Greetings fellow Alphonsians! Yours truly has just been volunteered as Chairman of Board of Judges for the Fun Walk Awards. As always been the tradition established by Capt. Joe’s batch, honors and trophies/plaques will be provided for different categories. These are: 1. BIGGEST DELEGATION: 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2. BEST CHEERING BATCHES: 1st, 2nd and 3rd 3. BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION: 1st, 2nd and 3rd 4. MOST COLORFUL: (one award) 5. BEST UNIFORM: (one award) There will be vantage points for judging appropriate categories. Tentatively, these are the Radaza ancestral home and the community stage across from the Puereculture Center. The final locations will be announced right before the start of the fun walk. You need not do anything special for these except in the category of Best Cheering Batches. You will be allowed up to 1 minute of cheering routine. The highest judging point will be the forward motion built into the routine (so as not to create a gap with the forward batches). The Fun Walk is one of our biggest fundraiser for our scholarship program. In the Biggest Contribution category, THERE IS NO LIMIT IN HOW MUCH A BATCH CAN CONTRIBUTE. So, AIM HIGH AND GO FOR THE HONOR AND THE TROPHY/PLAQUE. |

To My Fellow Alumni: Greetings from your President..!! It’s only a week and everybody’s excited to see each other’s batch-mates and other members. Your Board has set the stage for all activities- the fun walk, business meeting and elections, the thanksgiving mass and the gala night. The Hoops Dome was ready if not for the forceful and persistent reactions from the jubilarians who made dry-runs or practice sessions at the area. Their concerns range from convenience, to transportation, security, to health and safety. Your president must be prudent in his judgment and could not be indifferent to these concerns. A possibility of an accident would negate all preparations that we’ve made. And we cannot afford even a near-miss accident. A fellow alumnus painted a dreadful scenario where someone may end up suffocated by heat, smoke amid poor ventilation. The hoops dome is designed to be air-conditioned but it’s not done at this time. We banked our arguments on past experience- the National Youth Day event and a gathering of public school teachers held at that venue. Still, the cardiologist-alumnus insisted that a senior member may suffer a state of shock caused by the above conditions. Given this scenario, we can’t take any chances. We succumb to the demands of the jubilarians. Despite the short time, we managed to gather the pieces soon enough to be 100% ready for the occasion. Thanks to the SACS administration led by Sr. Ruth Bartonico, OSB for willingly hosting the events this year. This time it will be a “real homecoming” as we re-enter the portals of our beloved Alma Mater. Minus the threat of rain on August 3rd, we should be again witnessing and indulging a very memorable homecoming. I heard everybody assures me- rain or no rain, we will enjoy…!!! See you there..!! Sincerely, Rene Bontol |
